Data Deletion Instructions

Simmer ("we", "us") is operated by Boiling Waters PH (Bdub Technologies). This page explains how to delete your Simmer account and the personal data associated with it, including data obtained when you signed in with Facebook, Google, or another third-party identity provider.
What gets deleted
When you request account deletion, we remove or irreversibly anonymise:
- Your Simmer account and login credentials (email, OAuth provider links).
- Your community profile(s), posts, comments, advice, reactions, and
gamification balances (XP, Sparks).
- Your dating profile, matches, chat history, and post-match reviews
(where applicable).
- Profile photos and any media you have uploaded.
- Notification tokens and device identifiers.
A small set of records is retained only where required by law or to prevent fraud and abuse (for example: payment receipts, moderation decisions on reported content, and consent logs). These records do not contain information that can be used to contact you.
How to delete your account from inside Simmer
This is the fastest way to delete your data.
- Sign in to Simmer at <https://simmerbybw.com> (or open the Simmer
mobile app).
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm the request.
After confirmation:
- Your account enters a 7-day grace period. During this window
you can sign back in to cancel the deletion.
- After 7 days your account and associated personal data are
permanently deleted from our active systems.
- Backups containing your data are rotated out within 35 days.
You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is scheduled and a second confirmation when deletion is complete.
How to request deletion if you cannot sign in
If you no longer have access to your Simmer account — for example, because you removed Simmer from your Facebook or Google account and can no longer authenticate — email us and we will process the deletion manually.

Account deletion request - Include: the email address or Facebook/Google account you used
to sign up, and any username or display name you remember.
We will:
- Acknowledge the request within 2 business days.
- Verify your identity (we may ask for information that only the
account holder would know — we will never ask for your password).
- Complete the deletion within 30 days of verification, in line
with the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173) and GDPR.
Removing Simmer from Facebook
You can revoke Simmer's access to your Facebook account at any time:
- Open Facebook → Settings & Privacy → Settings.
- Go to Apps and Websites.
- Find Simmer in the list and click Remove.
Removing the app stops Simmer from receiving any further data from Facebook, but it does not delete the Simmer account itself. To delete your Simmer account and the data we have already received, follow one of the two procedures above.
